My Story

This journey began for me in 2004 when my aunt was first diagnosed with breast cancer. She was given 6 months to live…but she said she still had two sons (of a total of 5) to finish raising. Through sheer will and the grace of God, she lived two more years, until right after her youngest son graduated high school.

I participated in my first multi-day breast cancer walk (the big 60 mile walk) the next year (2007) as part of my grief journey. Today, I continue to walk, now with Pledge the Pink, because I can’t imagine walking away. There’s still too much to be done.
