My Story
Why do I fundraise each year for Pledge the Pink? Why do I do this event every fall with such happiness and excitement and a tinge of sadness?
I LOVE this event. It’s about lot of women AND men who get together for 3 days of ten miles each and wear pink, and wave to each other and hug and cry and celebrate triumphs and honor those lost to the fight of breast cancer. I’ve even been given a nickname…Smiley…because I’m always smiling and willing to share the love and cheers with all the participants and love on them all!
My mom, one of the sweetest,
funniest, kindest, people I ever had the pleasure of being in my life fought and fought this disease hard. In 2005 she lost that fight but she didn’t lose Her legacy of awesomeness! I want to continue her fight by helping to find a cure for breast cancer, or help women who need a mammogram and can’t afford one to get one.
These are Mother’s, grandmothers,daughters, sisters, aunts, friends, cousins, mentors and just plain good people who need to be here!
My goal is to reach $2,500this year! This is a huge goal, but I have good people in my life who know how important it is to find a cure for this horrible disease! I’m looking forward to walking for YOU and your loved ones! Thanks so much in advance!
