My Story
Many of you know that I lost my Dad’s mom, Grandma Penn to breast cancer after a double mastectomy when I was just 10 years old.
She was a wonderful daughter, sister, Mom, Grandmother and friend and losing her at such an early age really impacted our entire family.
For a number of years now and at my daughter, Jaclyn’s urging, we’ve walked hundreds of miles from beautiful Santa Barbara to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and raised thousands of dollars to end breast cancer. This year, we’re walking 30 miles in 3 days on 3 islands in South Carolina along with 1,500 fabulous participants to end breast cancer.
This year, our team of amazing women, some of which are breast cancer survivors, have chosen to direct our fundraising dollars to the City of Hope, a world-renowned breast cancer research hospital in Southern California which has saved many lives, including three of my friends.
