My Story
This will the the 4th year I’ve participated in Pledge the Pink. Each event has been one I’ll never forget. This is also my 1st year to do a fundraiser for the cause.
3 days, 30 miles, 1000 memories. A cancer fighting, sweaty, bling earning, bestie bonding, resort hoping run walk on one exquisite island. This year it will be held Oct. 14-17, 2021 on Hilton Head Island. 1500 of us dressed like flamingo will take over a portion of the island.
I’ve chosen Fundraising with Gift Cards. . Now you can buy gift cards for all your friends and family and raise money for the Pledge the Pink Foundation. Just download the Raise Right App and use our special code C89B8D5A74694. Buy all the gift cards your little heart desires and they will automatically donate a percentage of your sale to our fundraising account. You choose from 800 stores, restaurants, service providers(every brand you know is included, trust us!) and PTP will earn up toe 20% of your purchases.
Each year on the last day of the event we have a special time set aside where our breast cancer survivors and those who may be in the middle of their journey, go over the finish line. We line up on each side and cheer, we see the spirit of each of these fighters and the sheer appreciation of such a special event. We celebrate them!! We cheer them on. We laugh with them, cry with them, but we keep marching forward. Marching toward a cure.
This event is special to me because of the dear friends I have who are survivors and for those who fought the good fight and are no longer with us. Their memory lives on.
Breast cancer doesn’t discriminate, Young, old, male or female.
My goal this year is 500.00. If all 1500 flock stars could raise a small amount we can continue to do great things in the state of SC.
