My Story
I am so excited to join all
of the “Flock Stars” that will be walking this October to raise money and awareness for Breast Cancer!
I am a two time breast cancer survivor. It has certainly been an interesting journey. I was first diagnosed at 38. I thought a double mastectomy and tamoxifen would be enough to beat cancer. It was, for 4 years… At a routine oncology exam, I mentioned I was a bit short of breath. My doctor sent me for a CT scan to check my lungs. By some miracle, the radiologist noticed one of the lymph nodes under my left arm was slightly enlarged. I was diagnosed with breast cancer a second time. This time I had chemotherapy and radiation as well as surgery to remove the affected lymph nodes.
Five years later (knock on wood), I am healthy, have hair again and am so thankful and grateful. Thank you to everyone (you know who you are) that has supported me.
My goal is to raise $1200; 100 for every year since I was first diagnosed. Please consider supporting me in my fundraising efforts.
