My Story
Breast cancer has touched my life in ways that words can barely express. Though I’ve never faced it myself, the powerful stories of survival and loss in my family and among my closest friends have shaped me in profound ways. From my mother’s battle to the heartbreaking loss of a dear friend, I have seen the pain, the strength, and the hope that comes with this fight. And it’s that hope—along with the memory of those we’ve lost—that drives me to raise support for those who continue the fight today.
When I was in middle school, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was a terrifying time, not only because of the uncertainty of the diagnosis, but because we knew so little about the disease. The treatments were harsh, and we had no idea what the future would hold. But my mother, with her fierce will and unwavering strength, made it through her first battle—and for a while, it seemed like life would return to normal.
Then, just as she was celebrating her five-year “all clear” scan, she received the devastating news: her cancer had come back. This time, we were older, a bit wiser, but the fear was still overwhelming. We fought alongside her, and thankfully, she survived. But the journey never truly ends.
In the years that followed, I watched as other women close to me—my grandmother, friends, and family members—fought their own battles against breast cancer. Some survived. Others, like one dear friend, did not. In our group picture on my page there are 6 survivors smiling and thriving!
But with every loss, every victory, we are reminded of the importance of raising awareness, funding research, and supporting those who are in the midst of their own battles.
Why We Need Your Help
Today, I’m asking for your support in the ongoing fight against breast cancer. While we’ve come so far, there’s still so much to be done. We need better treatments, more research, and more awareness so that future generations will have a better chance at survival. We need to make sure no one has to face this disease alone.
Here’s how you can help:
Donate to support life-saving breast cancer research and patient care. Your gift could fund critical research, provide support to those currently battling the disease, or assist in the development of better treatment options.
“Pledge the Pink Foundation is a nonprofit public charity dedicated to funding breast cancer screening, treatment, outreach and research.
We provide funding for free mammograms, medical assistance, and outreach services to the people who need it most and too often are lost in a system of endless paperwork.
Quite simply, we fill the gap and eliminate the red tape and bureaucracy.”
