My Story

As of 2023, I am a 7 year survivor of Breast Cancer. I am a passionate mouthpiece about the importance of early detection. I caught mine early, and survived. A friend the same year as I, did not catch hers early, she is no longer with us. A mammogram is the most common test to begin screening for Breast Cancer. Pledge the Pink raises money to allow women (and men) who could not otherwise afford a mammogram get one in an effort to catch it early and SURVIVE!!!!

I am also a passionate mouthpiece about listening to your body. I had zero reason to think I had Breast Cancer. It was a total fluke I caught it early. I was having a weird sensation in my breasts in October 2015. I was slammed at work so it took a hot minute for me to get an order from my PA to get a mammogram. Six weeks later by the time my appointment came around, I was no longer even having the sensation I was experiencing in October. I came SOOOOOOOO close to not going to my appointment. But I went, and I am certain that decision, at minimum, made my Breast Cancer journey more bearable compared to most ,and at most, that decision saved my life.
