PYNE-ing For a Cure

On April 1st, 2010, I was diagnosed with Stage 3C breast cancer. Yes, on April Fool’s Day. No joke! Since that day, I have made it my mission to do my part to help find a cure. Shortly after my diagnosis, my sister Julie and my dearest friend Stefany walked in a 3-day breast cancer walk. I was humbled by their efforts and decided that I was going to be well enough to do a walk like that one day.
Well, since 2011, my sister and I have participated in 11 fundraising walks, walking 39.3 miles in two days, or 30 miles in 3 days. My daughter Madison and Julie’s daughter Libby have walked with us and others have joined us on shorter walks during the pandemic and beyond. We are excited to join Pledge the Pink again this year–this time with Stefany on our team!

We have had many friends and family members who have battled breast cancer over the years. This year we are dedicating our walk to ALL those who have been affected by breast cancer.
