My Story

I participate in Pledge The Pink each year in memory of my mother, Jill Zschocher. I knew everyday she was here what love looks like. She made, (that’s right made) my prom dresses that she let me design, seasoned the perfect pork chops for my birthday and gave me the most genuine encouragement in everything I tried. She died after fighting a 9 year battle with breast cancer in 1995.
This year as I walk I will carry two more people in my heart for 30 miles. Two great colleagues from the elementary school, CGS, where we teach together. Colleen and Kathryn make a difference in the lives of children flawlessly each day with genuine love and dedication. This year, they fought their battle with breast cancer while continuing to teach. They have inspired our faculty to live fully with the challenges we have been given. They have shown CGS how to be the light! Matthew 5:16
