My Story

My “little mama” (as we affectionately called her – she was only 4’10”) was easy-going, fun-loving, and calm-in-a-crisis. She was small but mighty, and loved large.

Mama had breast cancer and survived. Kidney cancer (non-metastatic) surfaced several years later & took her life when I was 25 years old. I miss her every day. I am blessed and fortunate to have found mother-figures & friends to support me over the years.

I am joining a dear friend (& the RUI Boozie Boobies crew) for Pledge the Pink as a tribute to Mama & in thanks for my good health!

My fundraising goal of 1933 is the year of my Mama’s birth.
