My Story

As you may know, breast cancer support, research and detection are very close to me. On February 12, 2015, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thank goodness for my annual mammograms, it was caught very early. On March 2015 I had a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction on August 3, 2015. Since then I have had five additional reconstruction surgeries (due to complications) and I feel great now and ready to walk for Pledge the Pink! This will be my fourth year to participate and I have to tell you, this is the best event around. The camaraderie and love shown is absolutely unmatched.

All this to say that this has been a journey; physically, mentally and emotionally. I’m so very lucky to have amazing supportive family and friends.

I am walking in the Pledge the Pink walk this year to help raise funds to assist with breast cancer research, support and detection. Please join with me in helping make breast cancer a thing of the past.
