My Story

My sister Crissy was diagnosed with Breast Cancer 11 years ago. I was just turning 40 and she told me at my celebration that she knew she had Breast Cancer. Shortly after the diagnosis came in and she quickly got a double mastectomy. 7 surgeries later and 11 years later she is surviving but is now diagnosed with Metastatic Breast Cancer and a tumor in her brain. This has been life changing for her and if you know her you notice the limp, the depression, and the effects of the radiation she has gone through. Several of my beautiful Aunts have passed from Breast to Brain Cancer: Aunt Margi, Aunt Doris, Aunt Bert. My outgoing, beautiful friends are going through Breast Cancer now: Rita, Jessica, Jaime…. This coming weekend I will walk 30 miles with two of my best friends for all of us. To honor those who have passed, those still fighting, and those surviving: My squad, my warriors, my sisters. I love you all
