My Story

Pledge the Pink is a 3-day, 30 mile walk to raise funds in the fight against breast cancer. In 2026, the event will take place in mid-October on Oak Island, North Carolina. PTP provides grants to fund breast cancer research efforts and community service organizations supporting those fighting breast cancer. It also provides funding for mammograms for women who cannot otherwise afford them.

For many years, Team Virginia has been a group of friends, spouses and partners with ties to Northern Virginia, all of whom are committed to finding a cure for breast and other forms of cancer. I have participated in breast cancer walks for the last 14 years because of my many friends and relatives who have fought this terrible fight with cancer. I am committed to continue to raise funds for this organization and cause in 2026, whether or not I participate in the actual walking event. In 2025, PTP and its 1500 walkers raised more than $1M.
