My Story
Hi everyone,
Thank you for taking a few minutes to view my fundraiser page. As many of you know, I lost my mother to Breast Cancer in 1976. I was 18 years old. There have been so many advancements since 1976, saving so many women’s lives. But unfortunately Breast Cancer is still killing women (and men) every day. Last month a close friend was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, it was found in a yearly mammogram. One of those advancements is the 3D mammogram machines that provides much clearer images.
The advancements we see are because of breakthroughs that happen because of the money raised by walks such as the Pledge the Pink. In 2007 I started doing walks for Breast Cancer to help raise money and to help raise awareness. I understand everyone has their own organizations that they support and may not have additional funds to give to Pledge For Pink. I ask you to PLEASE check yourself monthly and please schedule your mammogram, and remind your spouse, mother, sister and daughter. If I am able to raise enough money ($5,000), I will be able to have 75% of the money directed to the Northwest Community Healthcare in Arlington Heights Il, directed for breast cancer patients.
