My Story
There are only a few things in life that I think we can all agree on, and that is CANCER SUCKS!!! Everyone I know has a story to tell about this terrible disease…EVERYONE! We all have friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, etc. that have had their lives turned upside down and inside out hearing the words, “You have cancer”! We have lost so many. We are supporting so many. Yet we continue to hope and pray to have so many less! For the last three years our team Brig Babes said we need to help! We signed up. We trained. We put in sweat equity…but what we didn’t realize was that although we were giving the emotional, mental, and physical support…it’s the financial that is so desperately needed.
Did you know that $100 can help a woman without insurance obtain access to a mammogram. As we all know, early detection is the key to surviving breast cancer.
We are asking our friends, family, and anyone who has been affected to give anything they can! No amount too small! No donation unwanted! We welcome this monetary support to the Pledge the Pink Foundation as well as your support of our 2025 – 3 Day 30-mile walk, we will do in mid-October! We need YOU to be a part of OUR support team! Our cancer stories among us are many…TOO MANY!
Team Brig Babes stated supporting the Pledge the Pink Foundation in 2023. Never did we think when we made that first walk that cancer was going to hit one of our own team members…but forward to 2025 we are pleased to say that she is doing great. This year we have a team of 5 doing the 30-mile walk. With the love and support of our family, friends, and our fabulous Brigantine community we will travel to Fripp Island for this year’s event. Our venue is in South Carolina, but for proceeds over $5,000 – 75% help local women. Please reach out to any of our Brig Babes with questions, suggestions or even just to talk! Let’s do this together…one step and one dollar at a time because we all can agree…CANCER SUCKS!!! I have lost precious friends that were exceptional women to breast cancer (Rebecca, Judy, and recently my sister to lung cancer) and am thrilled that I have women friends that are thrivers and survivors but there is still so much more work to be done!!! These wonderful women give me the inspiration and determination to do this again this year!
