My Story

My first walk for breast cancer was in 2013 as a tribute to my mom who was a breast and uterine cancer survivor. I thought I’d do one and be done, ha was I wrong! I met so many incredible people on that walk that I went on and did 3 more over the next couple of years. I then moved to Italy and my big walks were put on hold. I did little walks and continued to watch and support my pink family as they continued walking for the cause. I missed my pink family, the people who come out to support, and the walks so much I decided to do another one! My first Pledge the PInk walk was 2 years ago and I LOVED it!! I brought family and friends to their first breast cancer walk and they also loved it!! I’m so excited to walk again this year in South Carolina where it had originated and where my mom lived. I’m looking forward to walking in an area she loved so much with my growing pink family supporting all those who won the fight, are fighting the fight, and remember those who have lost the fight. My mom will always be the reason I started walking, though I also carry everyone I know that has been diagnosed since my first walk with me. As long as I’m able to walk I’ll keep walking for this cause!
