My Story

My best friend, my son’s Aunt Jenny, was diagnosed in 2001. She, being the fierce warrior she was, fought it into remission that year. And things were good. Until November 2007, when it came back and it brought friends. She died of metastatic breast cancer on December 1, 2007.
And I could not sit idly by and do nothing about it. So, my son and I joined the Coconutter Strutters. And we, along with this amazing team, raised funds, walked in other walks, and made a very big noise to bring awareness, and hopefully, more funds into the fight.
My fundraising partner, my Orange-Haired Teen, our Rollin’ Coconut lost his battle with Epilepsy and its friends in 2016. We carry his joyful, fierce, and brave spirit in our souls as we continue the fight as he and his Aunt Jenny, and our Aunt Terry, and our other friends and family members cheer us on from their spots in the Universe.
Will you help us? Every dollar counts, and $100 funds a mammogram for someone who cannot fight alone.
