My Story
I am humbled and very grateful to those that have donated to me in the past and continue to stress the importance of Pledge the Pink’s effort. Walking at Fripp Island, SC in October 2025 was SOOO much fun. It always IS!. In case you didn’t notice the “theme” for 2025 it was Walking in a Winter Wonderland”. Noreen and I were “Ana and Elisa” and decorated our golf cart with snow, Fancy and Olaf! It’s always a blast!
We are heading back to Oak Island in 2026 and I am very excited to be participating again.
I walk because I can. I walk for those lost and those who survive. I walk for those to continue to fight this disease. I walk in hopes that my granddaughters will grow up in a time when Breast Cancer has been erraticated.
Every penny of our walk proceeds goes straight to 501 (c) (3) non profits, such as the American Cancer Society and countless other cancer-fighting beneficiaries. These dollars provide funding for heroic, budget-restricted, non-profit, service providers. Pledge the Pink supports the fight by funding biopsies, treatment and research. We also provide special grants to help with things like patient transportation to treatment, childcare/elder care during their appointments, home care, insurance co-pays and medications. Quite frankly, we fill the gap and help people that need it most. Your support for me is also support for them. I appreciate any amount of donation. WITH GRATITUDE and THANKS, Darleen
