My Story
We have been participating in various breast cancer walks (and even 1 bike ride) in memory of our high school friend, Chris Kowalczyk Long, since 1999. Chris was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was only 28 years old, and lost her battle 3 years later on Nov 6, 1998.
This is our first time with Pledge the Pink and our first time to attempt to walk 30 miles (in 3 days on 3 islands)! We have been so impressed with PTP’s enthusiasm for their event and would love to help them raise more money to offer free mammograms for people that need it most.
We are looking forward to adding Fripp Island, SC to the list of cities we have already visited for breast cancer walks.
