My Story
Hi! I am new here in every way. Uncharted territory but very grateful for and to so many. This has been quite a year. Switched jobs, moved (kind of), lost one of the most important people in my life and got breast cancer that thankfully was caught early because of my good healthcare which was taught to me by that important person in my life who dedicated her life to a nursing career and caring for others-my mother.
This year I was given a gift to make a career change and begin a new and uplifting worklife with an amazing organization. One that cares about its mission and people. My diagnosis in the first few weeks of my new job was terrifying but that faded quickly with the support at every level within the organization. I will never forget the kindness @TheBloodConnection. I was given a gift of great healthcare and yearly mamograms that caught the cancer early and made everything including my recently ended radiation almost pleasant with their cheerfulness and professionalism. Thank you @SummitHealthNJ. I’m grateful to my loving family and friends for all the support. I could not be more grateful.
I’m walking to help others get that much needed healthcare who may not be as lucky as I was and to support others in their journey. I walk for hope. And, I walk in honor of the strong, compassionate woman who raised me and who was adventurous and who is the reason that I changed my life path. It is her first heavenly birthday weekend. This seems right. Cheers and thank you to the Pegger.
