My Story
It’s that time again, another walk for Breast Cancer. This is my 15th year of walking for Breast Cancer. Susan G. Komen, Avon, Making Strides, and for the last 6yrs of that time has been 3 day/30 miles for Pledge the Pink. This year’s walk is in Florida, Amelia Island, woohoo!
We are doing something different for fundraising this year along with asking for your kind donations. We have set-up a shoe fundraiser that will run from August to September. We will get paid for the shoes we collect; hopefully, we make our goal of 2500 pairs, yes, 2500 pairs of lightly worn or new shoes. We have other plans, but not set in stone yet.
We also wanted to let y’all know that we changed our name from Naughty Nodes to Troublemakers for a Cure. Naughty Nodes still exists but since we’re down to just 3 of us, Patty, Reina, and myself and everyone else no longer participating, it just fits if you know the 3 of us. We’re always doing some kind of run supporting a cause or cure, Breast Cancer being our number 1. We’ll always be a Naughty Node at heart.
It’s been a little hard this year, we lost a former Naughty Node, Terry Rooney to lung cancer (she was not a smoker). She was a 20+ year breast cancer survivor. She will be sorely missed this year.
