My Story
Cancer… a word no one wants to hear. Unfortunately though to many hear this word. The next things going through your mind is why me, how, how bad is it , am I going die, my family and how am I going to pay for this. If we are lucky we have some kind of insurance but not all do.
There are so many different kinds of cancer but the one I am walking 33.1 miles for is Breast Cancer. Pledge the Pink is a foundation that helps individuals, men and women, be screened and receive support if and when needed.
I have been blessed that this disease has not affected my family directly but I have many friends and co -workers that have been diagnosed. They have gone through the surgeries, chemo and radiation treatments.
What I can do is walk, raise funds to help eradicate this disease or at least help individuals be screened and receive support when needed.
I am not asking for large amounts because every dollar counts. Small amounts add up. If you know someone who is fighting, survived or has lost the battle with Breast Cancer please think about donating in their name . I know I am .
