My Story
2025 Edition
On 10/28/93, I lost my sister, Debbie Dunn, to cancer. It started as breast cancer and eventually turned into several other forms of cancer. Debbie was the first person in our family diagnosed with breast cancer so it was a complete shock. She was 10 years my senior and was like a mother to me after our mother passed away at a young age from a stroke.
In memory of Debbie’s 32nd anniversary of passing, Kayla and I will be participating in Pledge the Pink from 10/16 to 10/19/23. I was pregnant with Kayla when Debbie passed away, so they never had a chance to meet unfortunately.
Pledge the Pink is a 3-day event where we will run and/or walk a total of 30 miles on Fripp Island, SC. Their underlying mission is to raise money in the fight against breast cancer. They also want you to have the best weekend of your life! While it is a lot of fun, it is very inspirational as well!
