My Story

This is my second year walking 30 miles in three days to raise money through the Pledge the Pink Foundation. Pledge the Pink Foundation is a non-profit group dedicated to funding breast cancer support, outreach and research. Last year’s walk was challenging for me. But, it was also very moving to be with so many people striving to make a difference. Our group started with 8 women from Brigantine. Before we left, one woman from our group experienced her own battle with breast cancer and was unable to join us. We walked for her and all the others struck by this disease.

This year our team set a goal to raise $6,500. This will go directly to a local breast cancer charity. It will help South Jersey women get access to mammograms. $100 funds a mammogram for one woman who doesn’t have insurance to pay for it. Mammograms are the best way to catch breast cancer early. Early detection pushes the breast cancer 5-year survival rate to nearly 100%. Your donation could help save a life.
