My Story

I am fundraising for Hope for the Future group walking in the 30 mile Pledge the Pink. This challenge is important to me as I celebrate being a breast cancer survivor. I hit the 5 year mark earlier this year and my breast cancer was discovered at our local hospital by a routine mammogram. The Hope for the Future group is raising money to support WellSpan’s
Mobile Mammography.

WellSpan’s Mobile Mammography is a new service in Central PA. We know that preventive screenings help to keep women A Healthy Step Ahead. That is why WellSpan has invested in this new, state-of-the-art mammography coach that brings convenience to a business or organization’s doorstep.
Women are busy. We are the glue that keeps the family together and organized. As we think of everyone else, often our needs “take a back seat”. Not on this bus! Women’s breast healthcare is the priority! And, the coach can travel so there is no barrier to those seeking services, the coach is goes to them – at a venue organized by a business or organization.
A mobile mammography event is a win-win for everyone. Instead of hours away from work, women can simply take a scheduled break for their quick 15- to 20-minute screening appointment. Your support will help woman who do not have insurance to get a mammogram and support this service.
