Turning Survival into Service
Years ago, I heard the words no one ever expects: you have breast cancer. What followed was not just a medical journey, but an emotional and spiritual one — filled with fear, faith, resilience, and ultimately, hope. As both a physician and a patient, I experienced firsthand how early detection and access to care can truly save lives.
Surviving breast cancer changed me — and it strengthened my commitment to serve others.
Through my work with the LIVE Today Foundation, I advocate for whole-person care and health equity, particularly for individuals who are under-resourced and underserved. Every day, I see how gaps in access can delay diagnosis and treatment, often with devastating consequences.
That’s why I’m walking and fundraising for Pledge the Pink.
Pledge the Pink Foundation provides funding for breast cancer screening, treatment, outreach, and research, ensuring that people who might otherwise fall through the cracks can receive life-saving mammograms and care. Every $100 raised helps fund one mammogram — one opportunity for early detection, one chance at life.
I walk because I know what’s at stake.
I walk because no one should face breast cancer alone.
