Boobies and the Beast

4 years and 60 days ago on Feb 24th 2015 Wendi heard the words that no one ever wants to hear “you have cancer”, Stage 0 DCIS, this was discovered during a routine mammogram followed by a biopsy. Fast forward to April 17th and after countless docs appts and scans she was wheeled in for what was to be a simple lumpectomy followed by radiation. One week later during her follow up appt with her surgeon her life would change again. He informed her that they discovered another cancer, Stage 2 TNBC, in one lymph node and she would now have to go through very aggressive chemo before the required 35 rounds of radiation. Chemo started Memorial weekend and ended Labor day weekend and radiation was complete November 16th 2015. It was a tough road one we hope she never has to go down again, we are excited to say she made it through it and is living her best life. She found Pledge the Pink completely by accident in 2017 and we all thought it would be a great thing to experience together and what better cause, especially since it saved her life. We all signed up and had one of the best weekends of our lives so much so that some of us are doing it again!
