Team Story
Why We Walk. Why We Fundraise. Why It Matters.
Every two minutes, someone in the U.S. hears the words: “You have breast cancer.” It’s a sentence that changes everything—and it’s more common than most people realize.
1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. That’s mothers, daughters, sisters, friends, coworkers—people we know and love. And while breast cancer is far more common in women, it’s not exclusive to them. Each year, approximately 2,700 men are also diagnosed. No one is immune.
While the majority of cases are diagnosed in women over 50, breast cancer doesn’t follow a rulebook. Young women—some as early as their 20s and 30s—face aggressive forms of the disease with limited screening options. And when caught late, survival rates drop significantly.
But here’s the good news: research is working.
Thanks to decades of dedicated research and funding, breast cancer death rates have declined by 43% since 1989. Today, the 5-year relative survival rate for localized breast cancer is an encouraging 99%. Early detection, improved treatments, and personalized medicine are saving lives—but we’re not done yet.
There is still no cure, and for too many families, the fight is still devastating. Metastatic breast cancer (stage IV), which spreads to other parts of the body, remains incurable and claims over 40,000 lives each year in the U.S. alone.
That’s why the RLTW (Rangers Lead The Way) team walks—and why we fundraise.
We are a family—Anthony Bartolotti, Sara Ghannam, Catherine White, Bryan White—walking side by side to raise critical funds for breast cancer research and the fight against all forms of cancer. Together, we walk with purpose, with heart, and with hope for a future where no one has to face this disease alone.
Funding fuels the progress. It supports:
Cutting-edge research to find better treatments—and a cure.
Access to care for underserved communities.
Support programs that provide emotional and financial help to patients and families.
When you donate, walk, or fundraise, you’re not just making a gesture. You’re making an impact. You’re pushing science forward. You’re standing with survivors. You’re honoring those we’ve lost. You’re offering hope.
This cause is personal. And that’s why the RLTW team is showing up—until breast cancer is no longer a threat to anyone, anywhere.
