My Story
All of you who know me know that my dedication to walking and my desire to fight cancer are about equal and special organizations like this one give me the opportunity to shine in both!
I have walked and will continue to do so in honor and memory of great friends and family members who have been afflicted with brain, breast, colon, liver, pancreatic and uterine cancers. Walking for Pledge the Pink with its focus on breast cancer gives us a special purpose this year. My daughter Eleni and I are walking with and celebrating our good friend Tina’s “20 years in the clear” of her battle with breast cancer.
I often feel that our lives can get so entangled with general busy-ness that we forget to stop, smell the roses and be grateful for all our blessings. So I’m going to take time this year to make a purposeful stop. Every training walk I will literally smell the roses and make an effort to be thankful. I will give my best efforts into sharing my thankfulness and to raising money to help this great organization in its fight against breast cancer.
If you are able to donate any amount to help us fight this ugly battle and can spread the word in the hopes that others may also contribute, I would be so grateful! And come October, all prayers for us as we will trek along as one family among thousands of others will also be appreciated! God bless.
