My Story
Too many of my close friends have been diagnosed with breast cancer and this past year it struck Polly, one of my fellow walkers. After the shock of her diagnosis, we could only be grateful for the advancements in early detection that have been made with the help of all who have supported these efforts.
This will be my first time walking Pledge the Pink and very excited about this organization and what they do. The Pledge the Pink Foundation started 8 years ago as a local charity in South Carolina and has developed into an organization that fundraises for breast cancer non-profit service providers across the country. If I or my team raises $5,000, we will be able to designate the charity of our choice to receive our donations!
The mascot for the Pledge the Pink Walk is the pink flamingo because they represent HOPE! For every $100 raised a pink flamingo is added to a Flocks of Love display.
I hope you will considering adding to the flock!
