My Story

It is my great honor to walk again with my Sugar’s Trekkers for Ta-Ta’s teammates in the Pledge the Pink walk in Oak Island, NC, in October 2026..

I walk to support and honor so many friends, family members, and pets who have been diagnosed with cancer. This year, I’ll be dedicating my walk to my sister, Ellen Windmiller, who has been battling ovarian cancer for about a dozen years, and to Barbara Sutcliffe, who passed on December 31, 2024, from cholangeocarcinoma. I am also walking in memory of my dearly departed brother-in-law Joseph Yaver who also had cholangiocarcinoma, and to support my friend Amy Bratt-Bradley who is a breast cancer survivor.

I am walking to celebrate life with my dear Sugar’s Trekkers teammates — and to support them, their families, and their furbabies! Remember…. Pets get breast cancer too!

Please contribute if you can. Let’s make 2026 the year we kick ALL cancer to the curb for good! Thank you SO much for your support!!
