My Story
I was a newbie for Pledge the Pink in 2019 after many years of walking in the 3-Day. I was ready for something new and I was enticed by the idea that no fundraising was required!
Before the 2019 event weekend was even over I had registered for 2020! I had also made the decision that I would be fundraising for 2020 because it is important and I love a challenge! I didn’t fundraise like I should have last year so I am recommitting to this goal for 2021!
The year 2020 threw a lot of challenges at us and Pledge the Pink went virtual. My team of 4 walked our 30 miles around Plymouth & Northville in Michigan and had a great weekend!
The mission of the Pledge the Pink Foundation is to provide breast cancer screening, treatment, and research.
Specifically, their focus is funding mammograms, biopsies, clinic trials, research labs, and diagnostic equipment.
Did you know that $100 funds a mammogram? For every $100 that I raise, I could save that many lives with early detection. Early detection saved MY LIFE, twice!
