My Story

I was diagnosed with HER2+breast cancer in October 2010. I had a normal mammogram in April. After a bilateral mastectomy and a year of chemotherapy I kicked this ugly disease out of my body. That spring we formed The Blind Side Team (most of you know how we chose the name) and walked our first 39 mile walk. We continued to walk every year (and raised thousands of $$$) until COVID hit and the walk was cancelled. In October 2020, I celebrated with The Blind Side as a 10 year breast cancer survivor! This October we will be traveling from various states to South Carolina (we pay all our expenses) to continue our efforts to raise funds putting an end to Breast Cancer. We will walk this year in honor of my amazing cuzin Shari Hogue. This year she was also diagnosed with breast cancer. She has been a long time supporter of fighting breast cancer and we celebrate her as a SURVIVOR!!!

MANY OF YOU KNOW THAT I LOST MY MOM RECENTLY AND YOU HAVE ASKED WHERE DONATIONS COULD BE MADE IN HER HONOR. SHE WAS ALWAYS A HUGE SUPPORTER OF
MY /OUR CONTINUED EFFORTS TO RAISE FUNDS FOR BREAST CANCER. THIS YEAR I WILL BE WALKING KNOWING SHE WOULD BE PROUD THAT WE CONTINUE THE FIGHT.
