My Story
20 YEARS…..$20,000…..can we do it?????
$6500 for myself and a $20,000 goal for my team…
20 years have past since 7/15/2005 – the day of my diagnosis of Stage 3A Breast Cancer.
20 years….Here are 20 things that have been invented since I was diagnosed.

Sadly, we still have not cured cancer, but MAN, have we made huge gains. A breast cancer diagnosis is not a life-sentence. There are so many people surviving longer and put into remission due to the advances/drug founded in the last 20 years. Of course, early detection is the key.
2024 was a year of change for me. Mainly, a new ankle in June 2024. With that, my ankle was not ready to do a 30 mile walk. WFK went to Amelia Island, FL and supported the walkers. We had tables every day, providing Ibuprofen, Tylenol, Wet Wipes, Sunscreen, Deodorant, Hand things to suck on, Water, Jello Shots, and tons of CHEERS!! The walkers loved seeing us at mile 1 cheering us and then again at mile 8 for our help stations. We were exhausted, but knew it was what needed to be done.
Most of you know my story…..I was honored to be one of the select speakers at the survivor Luncheon in Florida. We each have our own journey….
Mine started in 2005. I had to literally fight for my life and endured years of treatment. 8 Chemos, 35 Radiation Treatments, 1 year of Herceptin, 7 years of Arimidex, Surgeries, and now Lymphedoma in my left arm.
These walks are what drive me. The fundraising, the training, the traveling to these walks give me purpose and motivation. There is HOPE. I had a 20% chance I would make it to 5 years.
Every day is a gift and someone had to pave the way for me. I want to do my part. No donation is too small! (Let’s do this $20,000 as a team)
