My Story
I am so excited to participate in my fourth Pledge the Pink walk with Sister Squad in 2026 in Oak Island, NC! I believe in the Pledge the Pink organization and the work they do to disperse fundraising dollars to qualifying breast cancer screening, treatment, and research programs across the country. Because participants pay a registration fee to cover operational expenses, and fundraising is not required to participate in the walks, all funds raised are able to be dispersed to these programs.
I began doing breast cancer walks and fundraising for breast cancer organizations many years ago, as so many people I love are affected by the disease. I needed to help in some way.
I fundraise to honor the amazing survivors in my life: My mom Nancy, my mother-in-law, my aunt, my “sisters” Shannon, Tara, Julie and Meredith, my friends Carly, Angel, and Laura, and all who have survived, and succumbed to, breast cancer. I also fundraise for all the women and men who don’t have the resources for screening and treatment. I am dedicated to doing all I can, for as long as I can, to fight this terrible disease and to help those going through it. Last year, with the help of my generous donors, I was able to raise $3,800. This year I am determined to raise $5,000! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for supporting me in this fight.
