My Story
Hi Friends and Family, I am participating in my FIFTH Pledge the Pink breast cancer walk/run in 2022!! The special part of this walk for me is that I will be walking with FOUR other survivors on my team!!!
We are registered to walk 30 MILES again in 2022!!
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009, had a bi-lateral mastectomy, reconstruction and 4 chemotherapy sessions and yes, I lost all of my hair. But the hardest part of the entire experience was telling our son that I had cancer and would be sick for a while until it made me better.
Though I wouldn’t wish cancer on my worst enemy, I can say that I’ve met some of the strongest women in my life through this experience and I’ve made some lifelong friends. We are a true sisterhood. I had many others who were mentors for me and I have served as a mentor for others. It is a blessing to have the community we have.
Please consider a donation of any amount…it is tax deductible and the money raised will go towards a mammogram for someone who cannot afford one. Every little amount adds up, even a $5 donation!
We will be walking 30 miles, in 3 days. Yes, there are blisters. Yes, there are tears. BUT more importantly, it is the most encouraging and uplifting weekend of my life. Please consider supporting me in my quest to raise $1000 which will fund 10 mammograms!!
