My Story

2023 will be my 6th year participating in Pledge the Pink on team #AmandaStrong! While Amanda is my inspiration, I walk for so many in my circle of family and friends who have fought and are still battling this terrible disease…breast cancer.

This year is bittersweet as it will be our first without Amanda. This event, the people and the cause were so important to her. We will carry the torch for her and walk in her honor, we know she will be with us in spirit!

We have fun with our pink capes, tutus and flamingo (Fancy, the mascot of Pledge the Pink) shirts but the cause is serious. We lose too many people we love every year, this is why I walk. Where does the money go? The funds support breast cancer screening, treatment and research. Wouldn’t it be amazing to have a cure someday?

Every dollar counts, I’m appreciative of any donation to support my 3 day, 30 mile walk on Oak Island in October!
