My Story

This is my second year fundraising for Pledge the Pink and our new team Nips & Giggles. My mother Marilyn was a 3-time survivor and battled in both breasts with grace and kindness at age 90.
Four years ago, she passed at age 95 and continues to inspire, guide and protect from above. Her mother was a 47-year-old survivor, and her sister was also a survivor.

I was so inspired by the participants and volunteers last year that I’m attempting to walk 5 miles, 3 days in a row in honor of my family, and so many friends who have battled or supported a loved one during the journey.

I am diligent about yearly mammograms because of my family history and I realize how fortunate I am to to have access to insurance and opportunity to schedule appointments. It is not as easy for so many women and men in need of screening and support. Pledge the Pink’s platform disperses the funds to qualifying breast cancer screening, treatment, and research programs across the country.
