My Story

Hello, this will be my 5th year with PTP! I can’t brag enough about this organization and all the beautiful souls I’ve met! I became a participant to support my friend, a breast cancer survivor. Since then, I have encountered so many individuals close to me that have or are currently fighting this terrible disease. Over the past two years I have witnessed my aunt fight breast cancer and kicked its butt! Not all stories end in triumph, but they are all filled with courage, strength and tenacity. Pledge the Pink is more than an organization that raises money for breast cancer awareness, free mammograms and helping research new detection and treatment of breast cancer. It is difficult to explain to someone who has never attended an event, but it is FAMILY. It is a group of individuals who come together with a common goal (all 1500) of us! We laugh, we cry, we tell stories and we celebrate every milestone no matter the distance. I cannot accurately articulate with mere words how this obscure group has elevated my life to a higher plain of consciousness; as we (humans) relate and care for one another. My life is better simply by being a participant of this organization. I have friends across the United States and even globally all because someone decided to stand up to breast cancer. That person was/is Laura Morgan. She built this organization from a local charity in the low country in the Carolina’s to a global movement to address the need for available breast cancer screening. Just this past year (2025), PTP surpassed its goal of $750K to over $1M! Please help if you are so inclined to help me raise at least $5K in 2026!
