My Story
THAT VOICE – the one that turns you around, lights up your world, the one your Heart knows … yet today it has an under current that is foreign, alarming. As you look into the face of that one so significant, their lips twist to form the utterance of a sound that alters all that is familiar. The power so intense that the peripheral vision is grayed by a numbing fear and shock. And though the lips no longer move, the echo is deafening as it defies reality and reverberates louder. The one you Love just told you, “I have Breast Cancer.”
Stunningly, 1 in 8 women will develop invasive Breast Cancer over the course of her lifetime, (not including 50,000 +/- non-invasive cases)…. ONE IN EIGHT – let that sink in. And though rare, men get Breast Cancer too. While death rates in women under 50 have remained steady since 2007, in women over 50 these rates have dropped. These decreases are attributed to results of treatment advances and EARLY DETECTION THROUGH SCREENING.
Come October 14-17, 2021, I will participate in a 3 day/30 Mile Walk in Hilton Head, SC for PLEDGE THE PINK raising funds to support the Fight Against Breast Cancer by providing the means for FREE MAMMOGRAMS!

Many of us have been stricken by Breast Cancer (our mothers, sisters, wives, daughters, loved ones, fathers, brothers – the web spreads wide); THUS I proudly will do the sweat and steps as you do the support and prayer. Together our efforts will sponsor FREE MAMMOGRAMS for women and men during the scariest 15 minutes of their lives. I GREATLY APPRECIATE your consideration to participate.
