My Story

Excited for my third year walking with TEAM BOO BEES for this amazing event and a cause so near and dear to my breasts & heart. My mother Marilyn was a 3-time survivor and battled it in both breasts with grace and kindness at age 90. Three years ago, she passed at age 95 and continues to inspire, guide and protect from above. Her mother was a 47-year-old survivor, and her sister was a survivor. I walk in honor of my family, and also so many friends who have battled or supported a loved one during the journey. I have a list and please let me know if I can add someone to honor during the weekend.
In 2009 my breast surgeon found a rare phyllodes tumor, and I am grateful she caught early, and with my history a yearly mammogram is necessary. I realize how easy this is for me to have access to schedule and grateful for insurance. It is not easy for so many women and men in need of screening and support. Pledge the Pink’s platform disperses the funds to qualifying breast cancer screening, treatment, and research programs across the country. Thank you for supporting me and this amazing foundation.
