My Story

I am participating in a 3-day, 30-mile PLEDGE the PINK walk in Memory of my loving sister, Bonniejean (BJ) Crist.

• Last year, I lost not just a sister, but also a good friend and one of the strongest women I’ve ever known.
• For 20 years, she fought valiantly against her illness.
• To her children and grandchildren, she was a true hero, always there to lend support during tough times and to celebrate their successes.
• As a teacher, she was a role model to countless students, instilling inspiration and dedication in them.
• BJ faced each challenge with incredible courage, determination, and perseverance.
• She held steadfast faith and maintained eternal hope, even in the most difficult days.
• I have family and friends—sisters, brothers, cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cherished friends—who I want to protect from the grasp of cancer.

I may be a Newbie, yet I want to make a difference. I invite you to join me in this battle. Together, let’s honor those who have bravely faced cancer and work hand-in-hand to find a cure to prevent further loss.
