My Story

I began my PTP journey in 2017 to support, Margaret. My Sister of choice that God Gifted me in college. When she she shared that she was going to join a team for a 30 mile walk that would support FREE Mammograms for those who could not afford one. I thought what a fabulous opportunity to focus on something that would be good for my health, support my sister a cancer survivor and help me “walk” through the grieving process of having just lost my father.
But what happened was even better than I could have ever imagined. I met the most wonderful people that were so grateful for life and wanted to pay it forward. A community that shared, the win’s, the losses and stood together during each battle.
Early detection is key, getting a mammogram, opens the door for treatment. When you know you can FIGHT!
This will be my 4th year to walk so I am upping my game and rather than just doing a 16 week training to prepare I have commited to walking 3 million steps averaging 9,000 steps a day preparing for the addition of a half marathon day this year. Not required just a fun challenge. In doing so my desire is to help raise awareness and give hope to those who need it the most. Every $100.00 donated pays for
1 FREE mammogram for someone less fortunate. Thank You so much for your support.
