My Story

I walk for Kim, Nancy, Cammie, Sheryl, Jodi and many more. Some have lost their war, some have won, and some are still fighting. My Step-Sister Kim was a fighter! She had breast cancer and walked in the Susan G Komen 3-day in Boston while in treatment. My mom was by her side for that walk and stopped at my house on the way back to SC. I was amazed at her stories, and motivated to do the walk with her if she ever wanted to do it again. When Kim lost her battle with breast cancer my mom promised her we would do the walk again for her. So in 2012 we went to Chicago and all the women in Kim’s life honored her together. It was a truly life-changing experience for me. I became “a walker” and then continued to walk and participate in fundraising events for breast cancer. I did the “other” three-day two more times and walked in the Avon 39. Then we found Pledge the Pink. This is our third time in this three-day. We are so excited to do it again in 2023! We walk in memory and honor of so many women and men that have had to fight breast cancer. We walk for mammograms, treatment, and support. Please support us in this effort. Every $50 can get one more person a mammogram and help to fight breast cancer by catching it early!
