My Story
Year 8 of my adventures with this wonderful organization known as Pledge the Pink. I am the daughter whose Mom had breast cancer at age 39 and survived until age 74 and I am the sibling who has watched my older sister become a 10 year survivor. I walk in memory of those taken too soon and honor of all who fight for life. Each year creates wonderful memories and a focus to help fight breast cancer. This year 2025 Pledge the Pink is heading back to Fripp Island, SC to celebrate the survivors and thrivers of this devastating disease. I am so excited to return to Fripp Island where huge friendships begin and continue and we get to love on the Fripp residents!
Pledge the Pink (an all-volunteer organization of awesome people) resonates with me because it’s primary focus is not for research but to help fund mammograms, biopsies, treatments, and more for people who need help but can’t afford it. Please help me spread the hope of survival by helping those women (and men) in need. Every $100.00 raised funds a potentially lifesaving mammogram because as early detection is key. This year my fundraising goal is $5,000.00. Every donation is important no matter whether it is $1.00 or $1,000.00. Each year that our team raises over $5,000.00 we can bring back 75% of those funds raised to a local charity of our choice that is approved by the Pledge the Pink Board of Directors. In 2024 we donated just over $9,600.00 to Gertrude’s House in Douglasville, GA. that supports breast cancer warriors during their journey fighting this devastating disease. Please consider a tax-deductible donation to give hope to someone in need.
