My Story

November 12, 2024
I write this while resting at home recovering from yet another surgery. (What? She was in the hospital again?!) The good news is that this should be the last one. I’m one of the lucky ones, but I wouldn’t want anyone to go through what I’ve been through. I have an abundance of faith, family, friends, and support. I entered this surgery riding the wave of positivity from October 2024’s Pledge the Pink Event. Others are not so lucky, we have all lost loved ones to this disease. A few years ago, I climbed into bed to hug and talk with a girlfriend on one her last days of hospice following a multi-state and multi-clinical trial battle with cancer. She was a strong, vibrant, engaged and active Mom. Through her tears she said, “it’s not fair, I’m not ready”. I do this for her. Cancer is not fair. It does not discriminate. Early detection saves lives. Let’s help save lives.
