We are walking for everyone we know who is survivor, caregiver, family member and friend who has been affected by cancer.. all cancer.. It’s awful and wish no one to ever have to go thru this.
FROM TERESA:
On November 20th, 2018 I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Started Chemo on November 26th, from there had Double Mastectomy then Radiation. Just had my 6 month check -up and was told I am good. “Go have fun and enjoy life ! “ Still Cancer Free ! I am having reconstruction surgery next month and god willing that is it! I will be spending the weekend of October 15th- 18th walking to help put an end to breast cancer. The Pledge the Pink is a 3 day/ 30 mile event covering three islands in the low country of South Carolina to raise money for breast cancer screening, treatment and research.
This year, each participant that raises at least $5000 through donations and fundraisers can decide where their funds will be allocated. I have chosen to raise money for The John Theurer Cancer Center in Hackensack, NJ, where I spent many months of treatment as well as the Carl Inserra Leukemia Fund who supports Hackensack Hospital as well as so many other cancer treatment hospitals.
