My Story

Hi, we are Mary Jane McNeely and Carolyn Miles. This is our 17th year to participate in a multi-day Breast Cancer event, and our third year to participate in the Pledge The Pink. When we first started participating in this fight, I don’t think we personally knew anyone with the disease. Now, we could fill a book with names, some of whom are very close to us. I, Carolyn, have lost my oldest and dearest friend. Mary Jane and I have classmates and friends who have undergone treatment; and we lost a good friend a few years ago. In 2017 we lost Carolyn’s dear sister, Jerry Nell, who fought a long and courageous battle against this horrible disease. A lot of money has been raised through the large national foundations for research, but this particular walk is a small, local walk providing funds for uninsured and under insured people. Every $100 donation pays for one mammogram. When you support through your donations, it puts us all hand in hand in the fight against this horrific disease. Our goal is to raise at least $2000.00. We would be honored to have you join us in the fight against this horrific disease.
