My Story
Once again I’m fundraising for Breast Cancer, this year my team will walk in SC with the Pledge the Pink Walk. I walk in memory of three friends – Cindy, Charlene and Terri – I have lost to Breast Cancer since 2000. AND this past year 2 very close friends were diagnosed with Breast Cancer, each facing their own journey through treatment plans and survival strategies.
The success of fundraising and walking in the past years has allowed for aggressive research which offers new medication and additional hope for winning the battle. Mammograms are now covered under all insurance plans, and we have seen the introduction of the 3-D mammogram for early detection of smaller tumors/lesions.
I have had incredible experiences in each walk, sharing time with my team through aches/pains to cheers at the end of each day, meeting others with remarkable stories and I can look back to a turning point for me personally that includes;
– a time to grieve for those who have lost the battle to Breast Cancer,
– a celebration for those who continue to meet today’s challenges and
– a special thanks for the healthy advantage walking has given me.
Without YOU, I can not complete my 3-day walk plan. Thank you for your donation!!!
