My Story
Life happens and sometimes you have to fight. This 4-day, 30-mile, cancer-kicking weekend is a chance for me to give back and enjoy some time with my friends and sisters who have the passion and drive to kick this horrible disease.!
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. After 5 surgeries, I am happy to say I am healthy and grateful for the many advances the research community has made. I am one of 5 girls, and one of my sisters was diagnosed one month after me. She too is doing well. I have walked in Relay for Life, Avon 39, Making Strides, and Pledge the Pink. After each walk I was incredibly proud to cross the finish line with many blisters, wrapped knees, sore muscles but alive and well. Pledge the Pink is an inspiring, crazy fun weekend to reflect, celebrate, and continue the fight with a bunch of incredible warriors.
I am walking in PTP for the 5th time with a group of fabulous ladies who are also survivors or supporters of the cause. We are ‘Wandering Warriors’ from across the country and ready for some fun!
